Donald E. Bartlett, 72, formerly of Florence, died July 21 in New Castle West, County Limerick, Ireland, after a long illness.
Services were July 24 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bruree, County Limerick, Ireland. Burial was in the church cemetery.
After graduating from the University of Kansas, he went to work for Sperry Rand Corp., which later became Unisys Corp., working as a civilian engineer on U.S. Air Force bases.
He lived and worked in several locations, including Germany for a few years. Before to retiring, he worked near the North Pole for several months.
After retirement, he and his wife, Joan, moved to Boynton Beach, Fla. They spent time each year in Ireland, where Joan was born and raised.
His parents, Earl and Alberta Bartlett, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; a son, Tim of Choctaw, Okla.; a daughter, Diane Bailey of Midwest City, Okla.; step-children, Janet Gregory and Karen Osborne of Poole, England, Diane Scotti of Goodyear, Ariz., and Michael Guppy of Medford, N.Y.; a brother, Gary, of Wichita; five grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
