HOPE IN THE HEARTLAND:   Do you date ignore Easter?

Gracepoint Church, Peabody

Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christianity is a lie of epic proportions. In fact, if Easter didn’t happen, then we are reduced to believing in a God that can’t keep His promises. The very nature, character, and claims of God are at stake when it comes to whether or not Jesus of Nazareth rose from the dead. It’s an all-or-nothing proposition.

For the sake of argument, let’s assume the claims of scripture are historically reliable. If it is a standing fact that Jesus rose from the dead, what are you going to do about it? Easter is only a useful truth for those who accept it and respond accordingly. And it’s a dangerous truth for those who don’t. You see, we will either serve a risen Savior or answer to a risen Judge.

If Jesus is who He said He was — and the empty tomb declares He is — then He shouldn’t be ignored.

Is Easter true for you?
