Democrats offer scholarships

Marion County Democrats are seeking applications for an annual round of two $250 scholarships that will be available to any graduating senior from the five high schools in the county.

One will be the Linda Peterson Memorial Scholarship.

Applications will include essays on any two of the tenets of the Kansas Democratic Platform. Information is being sent to high school counselors at Hillsboro, Marion, Peabody-Burns, Centre, and Goessel high schools.

Seniors may contact the counselors. Members of the steering committee will determine the winners.

Application deadline will be 5 p.m. April 2
