Delores Stroda

Former Marion resident Delores M. Stroda, 81, died Friday at the Medicalodges of Herington. Funeral Mass was Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church in Herington.

She was born March 8, 1933, in Lincolnville to Albert Frank and Albina Elsie (Melcher) Bezdek. She graduated from Lincolnville High School in 1951.

She worked at Dreiling’s Department Store in Herington for 20 years and at the Lutheran Home Inc. for five years. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and St. John Altar Society.

She married Dwayne Stroda on May 1, 1954, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Marion.

Survivors include her husband, Dwayne; three sons, Darrell of Pratt, Chuck of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, and Pat Carpenter of Oceanside, California; two daughters, Pam Suenram of Salina and Mary Schroeder of Herington; a sister, Faye Makovec of Marion; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary was Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home-Herington Chapel. Memorial funds have been established with St. John Catholic Church, the Fr. Emil J. Kapaun Fund, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Hospice of Dickinson County.
