Charles Edward Krause, 82, retired physician, died Nov. 23, 2002, at Edmonds, Washington. He was a brother of William V. Krause.
Reign and Marlene Anduss hosted a large gathering of family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner.
Bailey Penner, with his mom, Kelly, is featured on the front page, seeing Santa coming down the street in the Christmas parade.

Lulu Watts celebrated her 100th birthday last Saturday, Nov. 28, at Peabody Memorial Nursing Home where she resides.
The first snow of the season blanketed this area last Thursday night and this week has been about the chilliest so far this season.
The City of Peabody approved contracts for repairs to four more houses this week — the Merle Spangler, Madge Mustoe, Joyce Reagan, and Albert Stika homes.

nov. 29, 1962
Vernon D. Slocombe, 66 of Wichita, died Monday night an hour and a half after he was involved in a traffic accident. He is a brother of S. A. Stovall of Peabody and grew up in this community.
Seaman Gary Thornton called his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Thornton, Sunday, saying he is back at Long Beach, Calif. after being overseas the past 8 months.
A mixed ensemble directed by John Walton presented “Sophomore Philosophy” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone” at PTA Monday night.
