Lloyd and Lucille Shepler, long time residents of Peabody, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on June 30.
The double ring vows of Elizabeth Ann Slocombe and Kelly Lynn Nusser, both of Peabody, were solemnized at 7 p.m. on June 6, 1987, at the Peabody United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Sims officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Woodrow Shepherd of Newton announce the engagement of their daughter, Sharon Kay, to Jack La Vern Grosse, son of Mrs. Kenneth Grosse and the late Mr. Kenneth Grosse of Peabody.
Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Craig and Susan, and Mrs. Barbara Hodges and children, Nancy, Ricky, and Dorry, spent the weekend with Dr. H.W. Craig at home in Lawrence.
Mrs. Stanley Madsen entertained Monday afternoon with a birthday party honoring the sixth birthday anniversary of her son, Jeffrey.

The boarders at the Union House are rejoicing at a couple of hammocks just put up for their convenience.
A serious runaway accident happened yesterday near the Post Office by which Abe Chittindon and Dick Hannah were violently thrown and injured. The former was badly bruised and Dick had his collar bone broken.
Rev. Mr. Miller, of the Dunkard church, is in our city and will preach at the Christian Church, Saturday evening, 18th inst.
