Polly Gaines of Peabody, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Gaines, is a member of the Butler County Community College vocal music group that was in Houston, Texas last week to take part in a special choral feature, “America Sings.”

Ron Slaymaker, Peabody native who coaches the Emporia State Basketball team, is in fast company this week as a member of the U.S. Pan American Games Basketball Selection Committee.

Trisha Hughes of Manhattan spent Friday and Saturday visiting relatives and friends in Peabody.
