Peabody High School Principal Greg Pennington resigned at a special board meeting earlier this month.

Dr. Tom Burkholder, assistant professor in the speech and communications department at South West Texas State in San Marcos, Texas, has been named outstanding faculty member for the current year in a vote by students of the university.

Members of the Marion County Historical Society met last Thursday evening at the Youngtown Church, one of the county’s historic sites. Marilyn Jones, Dorothy Craig, Edna Ewert, and Ross Baker attended from Peabody.
