A pall hung over the city as death came to Mayor Kobel last Wednesday night as a result of diabetes. Wm. Allen White of Emporia was one of many sending a condolence letter.

Roy Smith of Smith and Keller store says the war has played havoc with German dyestuffs and overall factories may be forced to find another color, maybe pink?

Seybold Bros. are now running their corn and feed mill at the hay press and are also using the engine to turn run the press.
