Walter Wentworth passed away on Dec. 7, 1998. Mr. Wentworth was a former custodian at Peabody— Burns High School.
Last Wednesday, Donna Hague, Tressie Kelsey, Janice Woodruff, and Esther Brooks went on a great adventure to Branson, Mo.
Graeme and Diane Glaser along with Bob and Arlene Moffett attended the Kansas State and Texas A&M game held in the Trans World Dome in St. Louis on Saturday, Dec. 5.

City Clerk Marge Graham has resigned after 12½ years to accept a position with a national non-profit organization with headquarters in Newton.
Mrs. Randy Bemiss announced that she has opened a portrait studio at the Bemiss home and is now ready to start snapping folks pictures for Christmas or whatever.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Farr, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Farr and Brenda Gillet of Whitewater attended the wedding of Evan Yoder and Becky Brown in Topeka Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Slocombe were in attendance at the KU-K-State football game in Manhattan on Saturday.
Charles W. Ward, 42, died at his home in Peabody in a Sunday morning tragedy which shocked the whole community. Death was caused by a blast from a .20 gauge shotgun which struck him in the head.
Miss. Harriet Heath of Wichita spent the weekend at the Paul Baker home.

Mrs. Charles Marsh entertained several friends at dinner Monday evening in honor of Mrs. John Christ of Peoria, Ill., who was visiting here.
