Peabody State Ban is celebrating the 100th anniversary of their founding in September 1899.
Despite cold temperatures, both Peabody and Hillsboro swim teams held their meet. Peabody Superswimmers won the meet with 617 points. Hillsboro had 487.
Mrs. D.R. Storbeck of Winfield was a guest in the home of Mrs. Willard Jewell Thursday evening until Saturday. They both went to Isabel on Friday and looked after farming interests.

Four members of the faculty of Peabody schools of the Peabody-Burns system have resigned, according to Superintendent John Glover. Twenty-year member of Peabody Junior High faculty, Carol Foote, resigned. A native of Peabody, Mrs. Foote had long expressed a desire to live in Colorado when family obligations made it possible.
Mrs. Nelson Poe and Mrs. Lynette Bemiss were among those attending a Sunday afternoon tea in the Victorian House Museum in Wichita.

The swift Peabody relay teams picked up enough points for a fourth-place in the state track meet at Wichita last weekend. The mile team ran to first place in the comparatively good time of 3:34.6, a new Peabody High School record. Members of the mile team were Gary Harper, Harold Johnson Jr., Kirk Covell, and John Jacobs.
Albert Strong of Oklahoma City came Tuesday to visit Wood Slaymaker. He returned to his home on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pierce and daughter, Lola Jane, moved to their recently purchased home at 602 N. Walnut last Monday.

Richard Amers and Mrs. Ethel McMahon were married Tuesday evening, April 13, at the Methodist parsonage by Reverend C.S. Clark.
I.V. Ames sold a motorcycle last week to Dr. Chesshir of Peabody.

Auto goggles are sold at Haupt’s. Be prepared for dust storms.

D.A.G. Huffman has been quite seriously ill for the past week and is now very low. His son, Mac, has come from Kentucky to visit him.
Mr. Perry is rejoicing over the arrival of a fine heifer calf from one of his thoroughbred Jersey cows.
Thos. Osburne is making a nice large bookcase for his brother in law, D.J. Roberts. It’s a fine one.
