Betty Jane Durbin Grimwood died at her home in Burns, on May 5, 1999. She was born March 9, 1924 in Coffeyville.

Vernon and Laura Slocombe will be married 66 years on May 14, 1999.

April 11, 1984

Harold Taylor, long time board member for the Flint Hills REA, was elected president of that organization at their annual meeting last Saturday at Herington.

Mrs. Ethel Skaer was hostess to her luncheon bridge club last Wednesday. Her guests were Mrs. W. Krause, Mrs. Marion Kurtze, and Mrs. Shreves Avery.

April 2, 1959

Nancy Aurell entered St. Luke hospital Monday for dental surgery on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woodruff are the parents of a daughter born Saturday, March 28, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. The little miss weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and has been named Diana Lynn.

The Birthday Club was entertained in the home of Mrs. F.A. Gray for the March meeting.

The milk wagon belonging to the creamery had a runaway Saturday from the Santa Fe freight depot to the barn.

G.H. Otte and daughters entertained a company of twelve at an elaborate 6 o’clock dinner last Thursday.
