Laurie Miles won the 1600-meter run at the Kansas State Track Meet last week and placed second in both the 800-meter and 3200-meter events.
John Wolfersperger, local photographer involved in preservation of historic images, needs more photographs for his series on Peabody history.
Marc A. Hughes of Riley received his BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Kansas State University on May 19.

Mathias IGA purchased a carload of Van Camp’s Pork and Beans and got delivery last week. The mountain of more than 600 cases is stacked twice as high as a man’s head over a considerable amount of floor space.
Dave Deutschendorf is one of the candidates for a degree from Tabor College this spring. He and Mrs. Deutschendorf live in Peabody where she teaches kindergarten.
Miss Sharon Gaede and Dennis Pickens of Florence were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hanes, Tony and Penny.

The A.T. Remer Nursery at Aulne has 3,000 peony plants now at the height of their glory. There are also 120,000 apple, fruit, and shade trees of every kind.
The windows at Peabody Hardware and Lumber Company have been filled with the work done during the year by pupils of the Domestic Arts and Manual Training Classes.

Mr. and Mrs. James Burke have leased the Grand Central Hotel and are refitting it for accommodations to the public.
Commencement exercises for Peabody High School will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday evening in the Methodist Church. Miss Jennie Christ is among the graduates.
