A group of old car enthusiasts from Wichita will drive to Peabody on Saturday and spend the day.
Peabody-Burns High School Warrior Mario Nava recently signed to play football at Tabor College.
“Honeysuckle, Hummingbirds, and Hazelnuts” will be featured at the women’s retreat on Saturday, April 23.

Ruth Cullins has returned to Peabody after spending the winter months in Florida with her daughter and husband, Ruth and Guy Cunningham.
Paul and Shirley Windsor of Wichita spent Saturday night at the home of Mildred Windsor.
Many visitors from out of town attended the funeral of a Laura Jean Ewert on April 3.

Gladys Gough and Ivy Hess sold the Ben Franklin store to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mayberry.
Easter dinner guests of Mrs. Rachel Meyer included Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Craney and Sally.
Dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robinson were their son, Dick of Wichita, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Robinson, Steven, Scott, and Joyce, and Mrs. W.B. Calbeck. The occasion honored the birthdays of Walter and Dick Robinson.

Oliver Kornhaas has bought the interest of Harry Small in the Small and Kornhaas blacksmith shop and is now the sole owner of it.
Miss Grace Roberts, who is a student at Baker University at Baldwin, came home last Wednesday for a vacation visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Roberts.
Miss Elsie Spahr, who is a student at Midland College at Atchinson, was a guest over Easter of Lucille Schroeder, her friend and former roommate at Midland.

There has been a great deal of flax planted in this vicinity this year. Two dealers have disposed of over 1,000 bushels of seed which, it is estimated will plant 2,000 acres.
W.D. Butler is enjoying a visit from his niece, Miss Wing, who arrived last week from Ohio and is now attending our high school.
There will be a special meeting of the Peabody Post No. 80 Grand Army of the Republic next Monday evening to consider the question of having a rally and camp fire on April 12.
