The Kansas City sheep market is strong and the Dickerson Brothers sent a car or two this week.
Mabel Cockley has been graduated as a professional nurse at Axtell Hospital after a three-year course.
Arnold Berns shipped 31 cars of cattle this week to eastern markets to hit rising prices. Shippers to Kansas City at the same time found a glut and prices off about 75 cents.

Jan. 23, 1890
T.M. Potter and F.H. Kollock went south Tuesday morning over the popular Santa Fe Line to Galveston and are enjoying a view of the southern country and the projected deep-water harbor, which is beginning to boom in Texas.
E.W. Hoch of Marion has been elected a director of the Kansas State Historical Society.
The ladies of the Methodist Church will have an envelope social at the parsonage on Wednesday evening, Jan. 29. All are invited.
