Peabody Historical Society officers have concluded a blacksmith forge donated to the museum some years ago is missing from the Morgan House.

Beth Gaines Riffel of Tampa, editor of Kansas Grass and Grain, will speak to the 2005 annual convention of the Kansas Farmer’s Union, Jan. 7 to 9.

Erin Cox of Peabody has been named to the Baker University fall 2004 honor roll.

Ron Kieferle of Peabody put in his final day of work at the Newton last Saturday, winding up 35 years in newspaper production.

Tom Grossnickle, who is in the Navy stationed in San Diego, came home Dec. 29 for a surprise visit with his mother, Carolyn Grossnickle, and sister, Kimberley Nelson, and other friends.

Beth and Milt Holloway of Lawrence were recently guests of Gary and Marilyn Jones, visiting from Wednesday to Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hanneman moved into their new home on Olive St.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hicks, Earl, Sherri, and Pam came from Salina Thursday to spend Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Hicks.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wait and sons George and Greg, returned to their Prairie Village home on Sunday after spending Christmas with Mrs. Wait’s mother, Mrs. Floyd Davies.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jewel, Janet, Rex, Bob, and Janell, were Christmas Day dinner guests of Mrs. Jewell’s mother, Mrs. Grace Selvey at Florence.

With the beautiful sunshine morning of yesterday, following several days of depressing dampness, there came a summons to still brighter days for Mrs. George W. Campbell, who answered the call of the angel of death at the advanced age of 84.
