Former Peabody High School football coach Dennis Franchione has made yet another move in his highly successful career. Franchione, currently head of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, will move next season to the coaching job at Texas A&M.

Mary and Shreves Avery hosted a Thanksgiving Day dinner for family members at their rural Peabody home.

At a special meeting Thursday night, Peabody Mayor Kevin Ensminger read a letter of resignation from Councilman Tammy Yoder.

Kiwanis Pancake Day drew the biggest crowd in years!

Jerry Schmidt, Peabody High School senior, recently was picked to the All-Southwest Kansas first team as a linebacker by the Hutchinson News sports staff.

The December meeting of the Peabody Sorosis was held at the home of Maxine Stockebrand with Dorothy Kerbs and Lois Graham acting as co-hostesses.

Dec.. 6, 1962

Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Baker Funeral Home for Thomas Thompson Baker, who passed away last Friday. Mrs. Barbara Hodges was soloist and Luther Marsh, organist.

Cal Reimer, Peabody High School coach and teacher, was named coach of the year at a special dinner of central and southern Kansas coaches in Newton last Wednesday night.

Beth Berns has been chosen as a member of the 247 voices of University of Kansas chorus.

A thousand tomcats are being collected by a firm in Belle Plaine, for shipment to the rat infested town of Hugo, Colorado.
