Florence Health Care closes its doors Tuesday leaving the 55 residents to find a new home.
Walter Ireland, longtime resident of Florence, died Tuesday at his home.
Betty and Wallace Seibel were surprised at the celebration of their 80th birthdays.

Sept. 3, 1987
Dorothy Smith, retired Peabody master teacher and wife of Fred Smith, died at age 78 last week after a brief illness.
Epp Brown, who with his wife recently observed their 70th anniversary, died during the past week.
Betty Ridenour, a former Peabody resident and mother of Phil Ridenour, a Cimarron attorney, and husband of Pat Berns Ridenour, died after an extended illness.

Miss Gladys Hoyt returned home Wednesday from a two-week vacation with her brother, Walton Hoyt, and Mrs. Hoyt, at Washington, D. C.
Herb Hodel was badly shaken up early Friday Morning when he fell from a truck at the Virgil Lietke farm.
Koni Kay Krause, 2 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Krause, suffered “accordion fractures” to the bones of her right leg just above the ankle in a fall Tuesday evening.

The introduction of silos to this locality, concerning which there has been some prejudice, goes steadily on. F. W. Reece and Dave Winger of Catlin, are among those who have built new ones and Mr. Winger begins filling his today.
The Rebekahs will hold their postponed ice cream social next Saturday evening on the C. M. Sawtelle lawn. Everyone invited.
D. N. Smith, the painter, will fix up your old buggy and make it look like new.
