Jan. 1, 1987

Nelson Poe, 83, retired Peabody ranch operator, banker, and grain dealer, died Sunday, Dec. 28, after a long period of failing health.

A holiday arrangement by Ross Baker can be seen in the display case at the Peabody Library.

Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Janzen were Steve and Phoebe Janzen and family of Marion, Marilyn, Ray, and Sara Cook. Other relatives plan to visit later.

The Christmas meeting of the Bellview Study Club was held at the home of Mrs. Cynthia Ross last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Stallwitz entertained the choir of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Sunday evening between the evening services and the annual midnight service at the church.

Gene Edmonds, who is employed several hours daily at the famous Disneyland in California, has been busy with Disneyland projects involved in the Rose Bowl festivities recently.
