Mary Dyck, former Peabody restaurant operator, is improving this week at Wesley Medical Center. She suffered severe complications from a blood clot in a lung during the weekend.
Recently the covered dish dinner crowd at the Senior Center was entertained by a local group, the Methodist Quartet. Members of this vocal ensemble are Randy Robinson, bass, Roy Unruh, baritone, Harry Hanneman and Graeme Glaser, tenors. Betty Robinson accompanies them on the piano.
Toby Levy celebrated his 12th birthday on Sept. 30 by having a few friends at his home for dinner, birthday cake, and plenty of football fun.

The Peabody Chamber of Commerce has spent about $1,000 on improvements to the park, including a new speaker system and concession stand.
Fred Mosiman of rural Peabody suffered a severely mangled hand this week when he became tangled in some machinery with which he was working.
Miss Doris Hass was crowned homecoming queen. Her attendants were Judy Seibel and Elizabeth Crawford.

A novel entertainment is planned for Halloween by the Presbyterian ladies. They call it a trip around the world and promise to furnish much amusement.

The largest class in high school this year is the elementary German class, which contains over 30 pupils. Miss Jagger finds it quite difficult to do justice to so many in the time allotted to the class.
Lost — a good, new buggy whip, on Sunday last. The finder will confer a favor on the owner by leaving it at the Gazette office.
Fred Russell and Elmer Mayes attended the Hutchinson fair.
