Letitia Michelle Saenz, Peabody, will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration after completing this summer session at Kansas State University.
To celebrate their golden and silver anniversaries Bud and Lavonne Hannaford and Mike and Gayle Thomas invite their friends to an open house at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Country Club on Sept. 24, 2003.
Peabody Main Street is working on the annual Christmas parade and is looking for a few good men—well, actually Main Street is looking for a few good men and women to help on the committee.

The Peabody Historical Society is beginning the series of Chautauqua programs scheduled through October. Lynn Berns, Chairman, lists these events: Oct. 1, Kansas Quilt Project; Oct. 9, Kansas Depots; Oct. 16, Century of Fashion; and Oct. 23, Par Excellence Barbershop Quartet.
Russell Ediger, son of Milford and Donna Ediger of rural Peabody and a Newton High School graduate, has accepted a position with Hallmark of Kansas City. He will be a writer and designer of contemporary cards.
Burglars took about $14,000 worth of construction equipment from the Hiebert residence in the rural Peabody area either Wednesday or Thursday night last week.

Judy Seibel, who was the Peabody delegate to the annual United Nations Tour sponsored by the IOOF this year, spoke to the Peabody Kiwanis Club this week at their regular meeting.
W. V. Krause, editor of the Gazette-Herald will represent Peabody by giving a 90-second television report next Tuesday night on KARD, Channel 3.
Gary Harper and Gene and Keith Guthrie are the Peabody students enrolled at Baker University this year.

Mrs. Ora Beeton returned this week from a few weeks’ stay in Blanchester and Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. C.L. Appleby went today to attend a meeting of the Marion County Medical Society in Marion.
T.B. Townsend left for his home in Zanesville, Ohio.

Owing to the great increase in business during the past month at the Panic Store, it has been found necessary to increase the clerical force and Miss Ella Brindley has been placed in charge of the millinery department.
Oliver Nusbaum, who lives 4 ½ miles north of this city was 23 years old last week and his parents arranged to have a surprise party in honor of the occasion.
Dr. A.H. Lackey has been invited to judge the Short Horn Cattle class at the Colorado State Fair which will take place the first week in October at Pueblo.
