“A hospital ward has been set up in Mayesville for all the various animals that have been clipped, cut, stitched, shaved, dosed, and medicated. The HMO for this area, of course, ruled none of the cases for any of the pets, emergency or not, is covered under the health care program their owners carry.” Maysville News.

A foursome of fearless Peabody area snake hunters spent last week in Waynona, Okla., at the annual Rattlesnake Hunt. Those making the trip were Stuart Woodruff, Mike Woodruff, Randy O’Neal, and Steve Rose.
Barb and Mark Kottwitz brought “Ralph” and “Becky” to visit PMMH resident Fanny Abbott during Easter time.

Harry Brown reports catching a 4-pound bass in the Rod and Gun Club Lake northeast of Peabody.
Patricia Berns, Carol Walker, Don Good, Chuck Ward, Gerald Gregorson, and Jim Truax were among those who attended the Gem and Mineral Show at the armory in Wichita Sunday.

Shupe and Tressler have done a good deed for themselves and the public by setting out shade trees on the south side of their building.
The African coffee supper, last evening, was not very well attended but an excellent supper had been prepared and those present had a grand time.
