Ross Mathias, 71, formerly of Peabody, died June 23 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.
Scott Entz, son of Mrs. Arnold Entz of Peabody, has accepted a position as plant engineer with Excel Corporation in Wichita. Entz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural engineering from Kansas State University in May.

After months of delays, construction is beginning on a swimming pool in Peabody.
Dr. R.D. Wood’s office will move this weekend from above the Peabody State Bank to 707 N. Maple St.
Mrs. Stanley Farr and baby were dismissed July 23 from St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

S.D. Mehew has returned home from an extended trip and says Peabody is certainly the garden spot of the state.
Our junior baseball club went to Walton Tuesday. They evidently took along a broom and used the brush part for a bat and the handle to score with — 63 to 29 in favor of Walton.
Victor Tressler, of Somerfield, Pa., nephew of Dr. J.E. Tressler, arrived here last week to spend the summer. He has just graduated with honors from the College of Pennsylvania at Gettysburg.
