Former mechanic Darrell Weigart, 89, died Monday at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marion. Inurnment will be in Marion Cemetery.

He was born June 13, 1927, to Preston and Esther (Elliott) Weigart in Grant City, Missouri. After graduating from high school, he served in the Navy. On Jan. 23, 1949, he married Beulah R. Pritchard.

A son, Jerry Weigart, and a sister, Garnett Weigart, preceded him in death.

He is survived by wife, Beulah of Marion; son
Terry Weigart of Hillsboro; daughters Julie Neuwirth of Lost Springs, Kathy Brown of Mesa, Arizona, and Pam Kotlarczyk of Tempe, Arizona; brother Adrian Weigart; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established for Victory Village Christian Academy of Hutchinson.
