COVID grant nets library a gazebo

Marion City Library has installed a gazebo east of its building in the former Santa Fe Train Depot.
A $17,000 federal grant directed by the State Library of Kansas paid for the project along with several outdoor children’s games.
Director Janet Marler said she wanted to provide a safe, outdoor space for library patrons.
“It will be the perfect place to do story time with kids,” she said.
The library will give free books to children from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the gazebo during Marion’s annual trick or treat.
