County still looking for appraiser

Staff writer

While commissioners have yet to fill the open appraiser position in the county, the topic came up several times Monday on a day with little action.

After conducting four interviews, Chairman Randy Dallke said no notable progress was made, and asked if the commission should consider re-advertising the position.

“I don’t think we have any other choice,” Commissioner Dan Holub said.

Job offers did not work out either because of a disagreement on salary or family issues where applicants were not ready to relocate.

There is still an offer out from last week that has not been returned, prompting commissioners to consider re-advertisement.

The commission also:

  • Voted to purchase a Bobcat angle broom attachment for $4,901 and combination bucket for $3,663.
  • Met in closed session for 35 minutes to discuss contracts and personnel. No action was taken.
