NEW ARRESTS

Samuel J. Butler, 19, Worcester, England, arrested Saturday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of driving under the influence of a lower-than-adult level of alcohol or drugs. Released 10 hours later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

Amber Carlson, 38, Turon, jailed Tuesday for failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of $7,500 surety bond. Previously jailed Feb. 26 to March 10, when her address was listed as Supulpa, Oklahoma, on suspicion of possessing an undetermined controlled substance, marijuana, and paraphernalia to cultivate illicit drugs.

Casey B. Galbraith, 27, Harrisburg, Indiana, arrested Monday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of aggravated battery, battery of a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, and driving a vehicle that was both unregistered and without insurance. Bond not set.

Brittney S. Guerrero, 34, Lost Springs, arrested Aug. 10 by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of trespassing and possessing an illicit stimulant (typically methamphetamine) and an undetermined controlled substance. Held in lieu of $15,000 in surety bonds. Previously jailed July 26, 2018, on suspicion of previously trespassing.

Sabrina L. Hessel, 27, Hillsboro, arrested Saturday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Released an hour later after posting a $2,500 surety bond. Although she is listed as age 27, the jail booking system lists the suspected charge against her as being for driver younger than 21 with a blood-alcohol level of less than the legal limit for older drivers. Previously jailed May 24 through 26, 2019, on court orders; Nov. 21, 2018, for twice failing to appear in court; and March 21, 2018, on suspicion of domestic battery.

James E. Johnson, 59, Hillsboro, arrested Thursday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of domestic battery. Released less than an hour later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

Justin M. Loomis, 28, Marion, jailed Tuesday for failure to appear in court. Held in lieu of $15,000 bond. Previously jailed 10 times for a total of 112 days between Feb. 26, 2018, and May 12, 2022. Previous jailings were for failing to appear in court 10 times and allegedly violating his probation and on suspicion of attempted burglary; attempted theft; possession of an undetermined controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and stolen property; criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, use of an illegally short-barreled weapon, and driving twice while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked.

Michael D. McCullough, jailed Aug. 10 for 14 days on court orders.

Zachary T. Nickel, 20, Marion, jailed Aug. 10 for the Kansas Department of Corrections. Previously jailed seven times for a total of 228 days between Nov. 5, 2019, and May 21, 2022. Previous jailings were four times on court orders and on suspicion of battery of a school employee, felony theft, and violating terms of his probation.

Damarius M. Peterson, 21, Newton, jailed Friday for 48 hours on court orders. Previously jailed April 5 on suspicion of possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and illegal stimulants (typically methamphetamine).

Eric C. Pettit, 39, Galva, jailed Aug. 8 for twice failing to appear in court. Released Thursday after posting $7,000 in surety bonds. Previously jailed four times for a total of five days between June 18, 2020, and July 16, 2022, for failing to appear in court and on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, possession of stolen property, and driving without both registration and proof of insurance while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked.

Samuel I. Reffett, 40, Durham, arrested Saturday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked and of tampering with and failing to use a required anti-drinking ignition interlock. Released three hours later after posting a $2,500 surety bond. Previously jailed May 17 and 18 on suspicion of domestic battery and Jan. 21 to 23 on court orders.
