NEW jailings

James V. Boese, 32, Goessel, arrested Feb. 3 by Goessel police on suspicion of rape of a victim less than 14, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and conspiracy to interfere with law enforcement. Released Thursday on his own recognizance.

Joseph A. Biehler, 30, Herington, jailed Saturday after his bond was revoked by Marion County District Court. Previously jailed Sept. 21, Sept. 14, Aug. 22, Feb. 24 to 25, 2020, Jan. 4 to 5, 2020, Dec. 14 to 15, 2019, Nov. 9 to 10, 2019, Feb. 22 to 24, 2019, Oct. 6, 2018, and May 8 to 9, 2018, mostly on suspicion of burglary, driving while license revoked, possession of opiates, and failure to appear in court.

Michelle L. Canfield, 34, Topeka, arrested Sunday by sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of fleeing police, interference with law enforcement, operating a car without an ignition interlock device, failure to exhibit a driver’s license, reckless driving and speeding. Held in lieu of $15,000 surety bond.

Nicholas A. Charpentier, 24, Waconda, arrested Friday by Marion police on suspicion of driving while suspended, and possession of marijuana, prescription drugs not prescribed to him, and drug paraphernalia.

Marisa Garcia-Otano, 27, Wichita, arrested March 3 by Kansas Highway Patrol troopers on suspicion of driving without a valid license. Released an hour later on $1,000 surety bond.

Zachary M. Nickel, 19, Marion, jailed Friday to serve a 14-day sentence for probation violation. Previously jailed Dec. 16 on suspicion of theft and Nov. 5 to 6 on suspicion of battery of a school employee.

Luis C. Perez, 30, Hillsboro, jailed Friday to serve a two-week sentence for burglary, theft, and trespass. Previously jailed March 28 to 29, Feb. 16 to 19, 2020, Oct. 11 to 26, 2019, Sept. 14 to 15, 2019, June 4 to 14, 2019, April 28, 2019, Dec. 30, 2018, July 9 to 20, 2019, and June 14 to 15, 2018, mostly for failure to appear in court, but also on suspicion of battery, burglary, and being a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol.

Dustin M. Steele, 32, Canton, jailed March 9 on suspicion of probation violation. Held in lieu of $2,000 surety bond. Previously jailed Aug. 17 to 19, July 6 to 7, Feb. 25 to 27, 2020, Sept. 19 to 20, 2019, Sept. 11, 2019, May 21, 2019, March 5, 2019, and June 17 to 18, 2018, mostly on suspicion of aggravated battery, domestic battery, driving while license suspended, and failure to appear in court.
