The U.S. Department of Agriculture has updated the drought disaster list this week to include Marion County.

The declaration means low-interest emergency loans are available through the USDA Farm Service Agency. County farmers have eight months to apply for loans to help cover part of their losses due to drought conditions. For more information contact the local FSA office or visit http://www.fsa.usda.gov.
