Counterpoint to sponsor day of music
Flint Hills Counterpoint, 1660 E. 90th, Peabody, will sponsor a day of music and environmental information June 4 at director Susan Mayo’s home at 1660 90th Rd.
Eugene Friesen, an award-winning composer and cellist, will perform during a sunset concert that will include the WoodFest Symphonia and Flint Hills Counterpoint Community Choir. The choir will be led by Tabor College music director Greg Zielke.
Activities will begin at 1 p.m., and musical performances will continue throughout the afternoon. Several artists will present artwork.
Visitors will tour a land reclamation site and learn about land conservation, invasive trees, and native grasses.
Activities for younger visitors will include mural painting, birdhouse art, and a goat petting zoo.
Local food trucks will be available.
Tickets cost $30 for general admission and $20 for Marion County residents. The driveway to the site is one-quarter mile west of Pawnee and 90th.
