CORRESPONDENTS: Writer attend family events in Eudora

LaVonne Ammeter went to a hair appointment Oct. 13 in Florence. Late in the afternoon, B.J. Ammeter and LaVonne went to Marion for a doctor’s appointment and some shopping. Stan Ammeter was a supper guest.

B.J. and LaVonne went to Peabody for medicine and groceries Oct. 14. Late in the evening Steve and Melody Magette arrived to spend the night. Stan came to visit with them.

On Oct. 15, Melody, Steve, and LaVonne left at about 6:30 a.m. to go Eudora to attend Matthew’s soccer game. Everyone had a good time. They went to Eric and Kristen Magette’s for lunch and for Rachel’s second birthday party and supper.

After supper, LaVonne and the Magettes returned to Ellsworth and LaVonne spent the weekend. Bryan and Amanda Kantock and Bethany, Regan, and Allison of Colorado Springs, Colo. also were at the Magette’s for the weekend.

The group had brunch Oct. 16. At 1 p.m., they all went to Granny’s Pumpkin Patch. The Kantocks left for Colorado and everyone else went back to Ellsworth.

In the evening, LaVonne, the Magettes, Emily, Avery, and Elyse all went to the Catholic Church supper and activities.

On Oct. 17, the Magettes brought LaVonne back home. In the late afternoon, the Magettes returned to Ellsworth.

B.J. and LaVonne went to Peabody for groceries on Oct. 18 and later picked two lilac blooms off the lilac bush at the farm.

On Oct. 8, Kenneth and Pat Phillips picked up LaVonne and they all went to Burns to get ready for the Burns High School 1948-49-50 class reunion at Arletta’s Catering. Theo Jean and Larry Winzer of El Dorado joined them to get set up.

There was a good turn-out —eight and their spouses from the class of 1948, six and their spouses from the class of 1949, and three and their spouses from the class of 1950, plus five guests.

The group had a great lunch and business meeting followed by lots of picture taking, reminiscing, and visiting.

Kenneth and Pat brought LaVonne back to the farm in time for the Kansas State University football game.

Donella Humphries came to the Ammeter farm on Oct. 7 and had lunch with LaVonne. They went to Peabody for groceries and business. Stan Ammeter was a supper guest.

On Oct. 9, LaVonne went to church at Ebenezer and Stan came to the farm for lunch.

Myron and Sally Ammeter arrived on Oct. 10 with great-grandsons Mitchell and Collin Bunger of Manhattan to visit and have lunch with LaVonne.

Mitchell was wearing his helmet to protect his head after his cranial surgery. They all went to Peabody in the afternoon to visit Opal Craney at Peabody Care Center.

Later in the afternoon Blaine Ammeter brought B. J. Ammeter back to the farm and spent the night.

On Oct. 11, Blaine and Stan were lunch guests of LaVonne. Then LaVonne and Blaine went to Peabody for medicine. Later Blaine and B. J. went to visit Don and Marjorie Gfeller.
