CORRESPONDENTS: Wonsevu: Cresses visit eco-powered house

Everett and Janet Cress went to Colorado Friday to visit their friends, Robert and Marg Trayer. They toured the Trayers’ new home, which is powered by wind turbines and solar energy. They also toured a home constructed completely of old tires and discarded cans and powered the same way as the Trayer home.

They met their son, Alan, and spent the night in Colorado springs. They watched Alan compete in a track event Sunday. He received a bronze medal in both shot put and discus. They returned home Sunday evening.

Hunter and Montana Cress of Cedar Point stayed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with Everett and Janet Cress.

Everett and Janet Cress visited Dan Fletcher at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Doni Rogers spent part of the week shipping cattle. He attended an ice cream social Saturday evening at Burns United Methodist Church to raise money for a food bank.

Hazel Clothier met her daughter, Teresa Hill, Heath and Cassidy on Friday at a restaurant in Marion.

Bill and Margie Williams’ grandson, Carl Williams, and Becca of Wamego, visited them Saturday afternoon. An additional Sunday dinner guest was son Gary Williams.

Julia Smith made a cake for a friend’s baby shower in Toronto. Sharon Smith took the cake for Julia, as Julia had to work. Later, Sharon visited with Don and Erma Smith in Toronto.

Sharon Smith visited Don and Emma Smith on Aug. 1 in Toronto. Dale and Tootsie Snelling visited Dan and Tammy Snelling and Sammy while they were camping July 31 at Marion County Lake.

Dale and Tootsie Snelling went shopping and had lunch Aug. 1 in El Dorado. That evening they attended church.

Hazel Clothier met Teresa Hill and Cassidy for lunch July 31 in Marion.

Carl Williams was a morning visitor Aug. 2 of Hazel Clothier.

Dinner guests of Bill and Margie Williams on Aug. 1 and 2 were their grandson, Carl Williams, and his wife, Becca, of Wamego.

Bill and Margie Williams and Hazel Clothier went to Emporia July 30 for lunch.

Doni Rogers was helping ship cattle last week.
