Doni Rogers went to the Mennonite church at Burns Tuesday evening to hear a woman from southwest China talk about growing up in China. She married an American missionary.
Hazel Clothier met her daughter Teresa Hill of Marion Friday at the Pizza Hut in Marion.
Julia Smith made a wedding cake Saturday for Greg Ballew and Ashley Prichert at Cassoday. Sharon said it turned out well.
Sharon and Lonnie Smith attended their annual fish fry on Labor Day at El Dorado. They had a nice group. They made plans for the annual reunion. They have the quilt almost done for a silent auction they always have at their family reunion.
Bill and Margie Williams returned home Monday from their trip to Arkansas to a family reunion. We spent time in Little Rock with my sister Thelma Thigpen and her family. Also spent time with Bill’s sisters Lola Smith, Mary and Sylvia Williams all of Harold, and Bill’s niece Linda Childers of El Dorado.
We really enjoyed the reunion. Not as many as were there last year, but we had a good time. I got to see a cousin I hadn’t seen since we were children.
A special thanks to Carl Williams and Denise Lang for taking care of our chores while we were gone.
Denise Lang was a Tuesday afternoon visitor of Margie Williams.
Everett and Janet Cress attended the Labor Day parade Monday at Florence. Everett was one of the grand marshals for the parade — the class of 1958, his 50th year reunion.
Tuesday evening guests of Everett and Janet were Toni and Dan Fletcher, Sonny and Orlando Mohr and Rauell, to ride on the hayrack with the draft horses. All the guests were from Cedar Point.
Wednesday morning they had breakfast with Rodney Charlton of Cedar Point. Later he came out and helped Everett with the draft horses.
Janet took Hunter to football practice Thursday at Cottonwood Falls.
Brandon Cress came out and helped Evereett with the draft horses each day after work.
Janet met Julia Ritter and Leath Goering at Cedar Point Friday. They went to Emporia and visited Dorothy Whitcomb. They ate lunch with Rhoda Whitcomb and friend Tink of Irving, Texas.
Friday evening Everett and Janet attended the wedding rehearsal and dinner for Greg Bellew and Ashley Prewitt at Burns. They attended the wedding Saturday and a barbecue following the ceremony.
We extend congratulations to Greg and Ashley, wishing them a long and happy life together.
Sunday morning visitors of Everett and Janet were Kevin Miller of Elmdale and Joe Roland of Cedar Point.
