Hazel Clothier had an open house Monday at the American Legion in Florence to celebrate her 90th birthday. Teresa Hill and her family, with the help of others, hosted the event.

Bill and Margie Williams celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary by having lunch in Emporia. Gary Williams took them to a restaurant in Newton for supper. Others present were Terry Stienbacker and Neva Hicks of Wichita.

Becca Willaims was a dinner guest June 27 of Bill and Margie Williams. That afternoon, Bill was a guest at Everett and Janet Cress’ annual cookout, along with Doni Rogers.

Hazel Clothier met her daughter and granddaughter, Teresa Hill and Cassidy, June 25 for lunch in Marion.

Jaimie Lang returned June 25 from a two-week trip in Australia with People-to-People Ambassadors. The group spent time in Cairns, visited a rain forest and the Great Barrier Reef, flew to Brisbane to visit the Sunshine Coast and Fraen Island, and saw Lake McKenzie. After sightseeing, Jaimie lived on a farm for her home stay in Jamworth for a couple of days before the group went to Sydney. They visited the Opera House and took a cruise in Sydney Harbour.

Doni Rogers hosted a potluck dinner June 26. Guests were Dale and Tootsie Snelling, Everett and Janet Cress, Sandi Cunningham, Carol Katz, and Bill and Margie Williams.

Carol Kutz was an overnight guest of Doni Rogers on June 26.

Dean Snelling of Goessel was a guest June 27 of Dale and Tootsie Snelling.

Alan Cress of Dillon, Mont., arrived June 24 at the home of his parents, Everett and Janet Cress. He brought his daughter, Mariah’s boyfriend, Dalton Sybrand of Laramie, Wyo. They planned to stay a few days.

Mariah, Dalton, and Everett and Janet Cress traveled June 26 to Overland Park to watch Alan compete in a track meet. Alan placed first in shot put and discus.

A number of Alan’s family and friends gathered June 27 for a cookout at the campground.
