CORRESPONDENTS: Senior Center

Peabody senior citizens are anticipating the monthy Wii tournament Monday at the center.

Seniors from the area are invited to participate following the noon meal.

The center also will host a hamburger cookout 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. Cost is by donation and no reservations are necessary. Proceeds from the meal will be used to help defray some of the costs at the center.

Bingo has been moved to Tuesday because of a conflict with a quarterly staff meeting. Participants are reminded to bring a candy bar for the prize pool.

The center is still looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen and with other tasks. Anyone with an hour or two a week to volunteer would be welcome at the center. Interested individuals may call the center at (620) 983-2226 or stop by and visit about volunteering.

The center requires that people planning to eat lunch at the center call the day or evening before the meal. If no one is available, there is an answering machine to leave a name and the date of the meal request.

The monthly menu is available at the center at 106 N. Walnut.

For additional information, contact Ruth Lott or Arlene Unruh at the center between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each weekday.
