Peabody Senior Center will host forum

Peabody Senior Center correspondent

Peabody Senior Center will be the site of a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Saturday. The forum is sponsored by the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin and will be moderated by Rep. Bob Brookens. Everyone is invited to come and learn more about the candidates for Peabody mayor and city council.

Elizabeth Doxon of I Kan Low Vision and Blindness will explain a program Monday and offer information about macular degeneration and other vision problems that affect seniors.

Devotions will be offered every Wednesday during Lent immediately after lunch. First Christian Church minister the Rev. James Pohlman will lead devotions March 30.

Everyone is welcome for lunch at Peabody Senior Center Monday through Friday. For seniors 60 and older, the charge is $2.75 for the meal. Others are welcome to join the group and the charge is $4.50.

For more information about meals or activities, contact the center at (620) 983-2226 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Meals may be reserved by leaving a message the night before attending the center to eat. Arrangements also can be made to come in and pick up a meal or to have it delivered.
