Peabody senior scene

Baking is done, time to decorate

Peabody Senior Center correspondent

Peppernut making was completed on Monday with the hard-working peppernut elves mixing, baking, and bagging approximately 450 pounds of the tiny cookies. The bags of cookies are reported to be selling briskly this year, and the proceeds from the project help offset the center’s utility costs.

Following the meal on Nov. 29, we will deck the halls at the center for Christmas. Anyone is welcome to get into the holiday spirit and come lend a hand.

Special entertainment will follow the Tuesday meal with Benny Holtzclaw singing and playing his guitar.

Remember that Gayla Ratzlaff will be available at the center from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday for assistance with Medicare and prescription drug plans. She also will conduct Tai Chi classes from 10 to 11 a.m. at the center.

Remember to pick up a December menu at the center, 106 N. Walnut. For more information about events or meals, call Ruth Lott or Arlene Unruh at the center, (620) 983-2226.
