Peabody Senior Center has Internet service and its members are pleased to enter the world of computer technology.

“Effective this week, we can get our news out in a timelier manner, transmit our monthly reports to Manhattan, and Kim Nellans, our cook, can order her food on line as well,” said Ruth Lott, center site manager. “We are thankful for the donors to the Dorothy Whisler memorials for this gift of technology.”

Next Monday will be the monthly board meeting at the center. It is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about the center or become more involved.

Tuesday will be the Senior Fair in Salina. A bus will be going to the fair from Marion. To make a reservation, contact the senior center at (620) 983-2226 or contact Marion County Department on Aging.

Wednesday will be the center’s business meeting, with information about upcoming events and issues at the center.

“It is almost peppernut time again, too,” Lott said. “We will start baking Mondays and Thursdays in October and continue until the week before Thanksgiving. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need the help of everyone who is available. We will have more information soon on the exact dates and times.”
