The First Mennonite Church senior fellowship met at the home of Dan and Alice Stucky in Peabody Wednesday evening. Attending were Pastor Arlen and Mary Busenitz, Dave and Esther Stucky, David and Welma Thiessen, Mike and Larry Spachek, Phyllis Mitchell, Mary and Gary Langenegger, and Joyce Kyle.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Jake Koehn who died Sept. 15. Funeral services were held Sept. 18.
Willie and Cathy Bender of Mifflinburg, Penn., arrived Sept. 17 at the home of her parents, Vernon and Florine Koehn and Judy. They came to attend the funeral of Ruby Koehn, along with Vernon and Judy Koehn, Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalene, and Carolee. Joyce Kyle also attended the funeral.
A cookout was held at the Vernon Koehn home Friday evening honoring their houseguests, the Benders. Guests were the Renfern Koehn family, Kevin and Jan Jantz, Kylie, Shawna, and Jessie, and Rose Forgy, Melissa, and Ryan. The Benders left Saturday. Vernon and Judy were supper guests of the Jake Koehn family on Tuesday.
We are happy to announce that Ella Koehn was able to return home Sept. 22. We wish her well.
Marvin and Sherol Nightengale went to Buhler Thursday evening to watch Casey Nightengale run in cross country. Saturday evening they went to Manhattan to the home of Mitch and Cathy Foote and their daughter Kristen Wild and granddaughter Sophia of South Carolina. Sunday guests at the Foote home to help Sophia celebrate her first birthday were Brad and Casey Nightengale of El Dorado, Roger and Laura Nightengale of Lawrence, and Jim and Linda Hess, Allie and Amelia of Kearney, Mo.
Ronnie and Patti Gaines were Saturday supper guests at the Marion County Lake of Roma and Kenny Koehn of Galva and Shawn and Jeanie Koehn and boys of Sylvia.
Sunday dinner guests of Lawrence and Lois Sayers were Bruce Sayers, Megan and Jessica and friend Melody, and Sandy Sayers.
Saturday Lawrence and Lois Sayers attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Evans at Towanda. They met their friends Joe and Dean Frayley of Fayetteville, Ark., at the anniversary.
Evelyn Sidener, Beverly Morgan, and Joyce Kyle attended the senior citizens board meeting at Peabody Friday. After lunch they went to Newton and visited Kathleen Brenzikofer at Kansas Christian Home. She sends regards to everyone.
