CORRESPONDENTS: Burns High School classes reunite

The Burns High School classes of 1948, 1949, and 1950 met for a reunion on Oct 8 in Burns.

Kenneth Phillips gave the blessing and everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch.

Kenneth Phillips, assisted by Pat Phillips, LaVonne Ammeter, and Theo Jean Winzer, conducted a business meeting.

Kenneth Phillips asked for volunteers to organize and host the 2012 meeting, and Harold and Naomi Brenzikofer, Charlie and Iris Bayes, and Don and Marjorie Gfeller were elected.

Class members spoke about their families and activities during the past year. Letters were read from those unable to attend, including Lois (Fruend) Pale, Johnna (Crawford) Hopper, Coach Kaufman’s daughters and John Dauber. Lots of visited and picture taking filled the afternoon.

Those attending from the class of 1948 were LaVonne (Gillet) Ammeter, Charlie Bayes and wife Iris, LeRoy Church and wife Nancy, Wendell Edwards and Rubena Franzen, Richard Gfeller and daughter Rhonda Sargent, Betty (Notz) Kaufman and husband Mike, Pat Phillips and husband Kenneth, Dorothy (Wade) Widler, Florence (Larsen) Biehl, and Willard Larsen.

Members of the class of 1949 in attendance were Don and Marjorie Gfeller, Theo Jean (Knaussman) Winzer, and husband Larry, Kenneth Phillips and wife Pat, Mary Beth (Spinden) Collett and husband Howard, and Loreen Ratzloff.

Members attending from the class on 1950 were Harold Brenzikofer and wife Naomi, Lelan Stucky, Gordon Clark and wife Joan, Lowell Larsen and guest Elda Hiebert, Wanda (Riggs) Howard and husband Jim, and Harold Gfeller.

There was a total of 35 in attendance.
