Vernon and Judy Koehn, Wanda and Renferd Koehn, Ronnie, and Carolee attended a farewell supper for Darwin and Leanna Schmidt and family Oct. 31 at Eden Mennonite Church. The Schmidts are going to the Ukraine for three years to do mission work. Dinah Koehn will go with them as teacher for their children.

Vernon Koehn called on Harvey and Erma Koehn on Oct. 26 at Potwin.

Sandy Sayers helped her parents, Lawrence and Lois Sayers, Oct. 30. Seth and Faith Wiebe stayed with Lawrence and Lois while their parents, Josh and Ashley Wiebe, voted Nov. 2.

There weren’t many trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood Oct. 31.

Karen Saner and her daughter, Sheri, vacationed in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and South and North Carolina. After Sheri attended a children’s ministry conference in Alabama, mother and daughter visited relatives in Georgia and North Carolina. They saw autumn-colored leaves in the Great Smoky Mountains, watched dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean, ate seafood, and relaxed on the beach — quite a change for the two Kansas natives.

Al and Bonnie Plummer went to Nixa, Mo., on Oct. 20 and were guests in the home of their daughter and her family, Martin and Kayme Voelker, Alyson, and Abby. They returned home Oct. 24.

Bonnie Plummer and Hayley Bidwell and Raven ate lunch together Oct. 25 in El Dorado.

Marvin and Sherol Nightengale went to El Dorado on Oct. 23 to watch Casey Nightengale compete in a meet. In the evening, they attended a supper at Burns United Methodist Church.

Ronnie and Patti Gaines met relatives at the home of Kenny and Roma Koehn in Galva. Guests were Shawn and Jean Koehn and boys of Sylvia and Terri and Lia Moddlemog of Galva. They celebrated Shawn’s and Lia’s birthdays.

Dinner guests Oct. 24 of Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, and Carolee were Dalen and Beth Koehn, Nathan Koehn, and Gene and Louise Koehn.

Wanda and Beth Koehn spent Oct. 25 canning applesauce.

Evelyn Sidener, James Oberding, and Joyce Kyle attended the annual meeting of Senior Citizens of Marion County on Oct. 21 in Marion.

Joyce Kyle attended the Burns United Methodist Church supper and bazaar Oct. 23. The next day, she was a guest in the home of Bob and Becky Kyle, Brody, and Braxton to help Braxton celebrate his birthday. Other guests were Glenn and Betty Kyle;Dan Kyle, Margaret Hladik; Marion and Carolyn Rowland; Sherry and Carrie Glover; and Brian and Katie Henry, Baylor, and Skylor.

Members of the 20th Century Club visited a retail business Oct. 25 in Wichita. They were Lois Sayers, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Sherol Nightengale, Norma Clark, Marie Clark and her granddaughter Hadlye Clark, and Joyce Kyle.
