Burns correspondent

Burns senior citizens met Aug. 10 for a potluck dinner. Twenty-one seniors and guests listened as Larry Larsen, Peabody paramedic, gave a presentation about his experiences and some of the rules and regulations of Emergency Medical Service professionals. He came in an ambulance.

A short business meeting followed. Seniors discussed a centerpiece for the senior fair.

Ronnie and Patti Gaines went to Wichita Aug. 7 to spend the day with their son, Dusty.

Marvin and Sherol Nightengale had weekend guests, including Kristen and Sophie Wilds of South Carolina, Mitch and Cathy Foote of Manhattan, and Brad, Diane, Roger, Laura, and Casey Nightengale of El Dorado.

Lawrence and Lois Sayers picked up Sandy Sayers Aug. 7 and went to Wichita for supper.

Josh and Ashley Wiebe left Aug. 7 for Branson to celebrate their anniversary. Seth and Faith Wiebe spent the weekend with their grandparents, Cecil and Jacquie Wiebe, and returned home Aug. 9.

Jim and Beulah Gehring of Moundridge and Joyce Kyle picked up Mary Langenegger Aug. 7 and all had dinner in Burns.

Members of Burns United Methodist Women went to Newton Aug. 5 and had lunch before visiting Kathleen Brenzikofer and Frank and Rosalie Heath. Those visiting were Laverna and Melisa Parrish, Evelyn Sidener, Beverly Morgan, Doni Rogers, and Joyce Kyle.

A bridal shower Aug. 1 for Shelly Plummer at Burns Community Building was attended by friends and family members. Games were played and refreshments were served.
