Carolyn Metz arrived Tuesday evening to spend the night. We went to Marion Wednesday morning to move Laura Branham from Golden Living Center to Legacy Park because it was closing. We helped her unpack and get settled.

The Wiebe’s came to LaVonne’s Wednesday evening to visit.

Stanley and I went to Marion Thursday for appointments. I visited LeRoy Riggs at St. Luke Living Center.

Later in the afternoon, Michele came and we decorated and delivered a birthday cake to Legacy Park and visited Donna Robb, Emma Shaw, Laura Branham, Aunt Nonie Widler, and Don Gillet.

I had two trick or treaters Halloween night, Dylan Boese and Hadley Clark. John Boese and Mack and Shayla Clark were visitors.

The community lost a dear neighbor and friend, Maude Gaines, who died Thursday morning. Many of you knew her for years. She went to her Heavenly home. I will truly miss her. She was a best friend and a dear cousin.

Shelly Harper of Inman and Stan and B. J. visited LaVonne Friday afternoon, and Michele Montgomery of Florence visited Saturday afternoon.

Melody Magette of Dodge City and Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived Sunday afternoon to spend the night and attended Maude’s funeral Monday morning. Stan and B. J. were supper guests.

Melody and LaVonne went to Peabody Monday morning to the Methodist church to help with lunch for the family. Blaine joined us later and we went to the funeral. It was a lovely service and many came to pay their respects.

Summit and Peabody women served lunch to many family members and friends.

Melody took me to Marion after the funeral to get the ballots for the election. She and Blaine left for home late afternoon.

Monday visitors were Sandi Fritz and Michele Boese.

Joyce Kyle picked me up early Tuesday morning and we went to Burns to work the election. What a day! We had 110 voters from Burns and Milton and 49 voters from Summit. We were so proud of the turnout. Yeah for the voters; you did good!

Ron Goodwin took Fern, Joyce, and me to Marion Tuesday evening to return the ballots.

We extend prayers and deepest sympathy to the Gaines family in the loss of their loved one.

The election is over and we have a new president. May God bless him.
