Writer watches Summit Church demolition

Grandchildren visit from South Carolina

On June 15, LaVonne Ammeter watched the demolition of the Summit Church building. That afternoon, B.J. Ammeter took LaVonne to an appointment and to shop.

The Rev. David and Katherine Ragland came to the Ammeter farm June 16 to visit LaVonne and to pick up items for a convention. Stan Ammeter was a lunch guest of LaVonne.

Larry and Theo Jean Winzer of El Dorado called June 17 to tell LaVonne that her cousin, Rex Frey, had died.

Donella Humphries, LaVonne’s niece, of Florence, took LaVonne to Peabody on June 18 to the bank. They stayed in Florence for lunch. Stan came in that afternoon to mow. Michele Boese and Dylan were evening visitors.

One June 19, Michele Hartnagel of Florence visited LaVonne. Stan was a dinner guest. Later, B.J. returned from Ellinwood.

B.J. and LaVonne went to Marion on June 20 for an appointment and to shop.

LaVonne went to Peabody on June 21 for medicine.

Last week’s news

B.J. Ammeter and LaVonne Ammeter picked up Opal Craney on June 9 at Peabody Care Center and went to Myron and Sally Ammeter’s house in Manhattan to visit grandchildren from South Carolina, including Rob and Christy Ammeter, Samantha, Alison, and Jacob.

Lunch visitors were Angela Bunger, Mitchell and Collin. B.J., LaVonne, and Opal returned to Peabody in the evening.

B.J. and LaVonne went to Peabody on June 10 for medicine and groceries. Carol Ammeter arrived from Ellinwood to stay the night. She went to Burns to help prepare the community building for her parents’ wedding anniversary the next day.

LaVonne went to Burns on June 11 to deliver recycling. Melody Magette and Emily Haxton and Elyse came from Ellsworth and ate lunch at the Ammeter home. They went to Burns for the wedding anniversary party for Don and Marjorie Gfeller.

After the reception, Melody, Emily, and Elyse returned home. Carol and Blaine stayed overnight at the Ammeter farm.

Blaine, Carol, and LaVonne attended church services June 12 at Ebenezer. Many members of the Don and Marge Gfeller family, including their children, attended. After the service, Blaine took his mother, LaVonne, home and returned with B.J. to the Gfeller home for lunch.

Joyce Kyle arrived at the Ammeter farm June 13 to pick up LaVonne for the 20th Century Club meeting at Marie Clark’s home. Stan Ammeter was an evening visitor.

B.J. and LaVonne went shopping June 14 in Peabody. Early in the afternoon, Chloe Boese and her boyfriend, Mike, of Colorado visited LaVonne. Chloe and Mike are staying with Chloe’s family, the John Boeses.
