Friends visit from Manhattan

Contributing writer

Sally and Myron Ammeter went to the Ammeter farm from Manhattan on May 5 to take LaVonne to an appointment in Newton. They did some shopping and ate lunch out. Sally and Myron picked up Opal Craney, Sally’s mother, from Legacy Park and took her to Manhattan for the weekend. They brought Opal back May 9 and visited LaVonne in the afternoon.

Blaine and Carol Ammeter spent the night May 7 with LaVonne. Stan Ammeter visited later in the evening.

Carol Ammeter went to visit her parents, Dan and Marjorie Gfeller, May 8 and went to worship services at Ebenezer. Blaine Ammeter and LaVonne went to Ellsworth to Avery Haxton’s first communion. Afterward, they went to the home of Emily and Kevin Haxton, Avery, and Elyse for lunch and a party. Those attending were Eric and Kristin Magette, Rachel, and Matthew; Adam and Crystal Magette and Lucas; Bryan and Amanda Kantack, Alison, Bethany, and Regan; and Kevin’s mother, father, brother, and sister and their children.

Later in the evening, Blaine and Carol left for Ellinwood. They stopped in Peabody to visit Arlin and Vonnie Gfeller.

LaVonne went to the Senior Citizens potluck May 10 at Burns community building. Later in the afternoon, B.J. and LaVonne went to Peabody for groceries and medicine.
