Friends celebrate birthday with writer

B.J. and LaVonne Ammeter went to the senior center for lunch March 16 in Peabody. They also attended a Lenten service given by the Rev. David Ragland. Later LaVonne went to Legacy Park to visit Lucille and Richard Wyss, Donna Roble, Fordyce and Marge Gray, and Opal Craney.

LaVonne went to Marion March 18 to the doctor and to do some shopping.

Myron Ammeter of Manhattan came March 19 to the Ammeter farm. Myron and LaVonne ate lunch and then went to Legacy Park to pick up Opal Craney. They all then went to Myron and Sally Ammeter’s home in Manhattan. In the early evening they all went to Wamego to a birthday party for Crystal Maggette, her actual birthday was March 21, which was also LaVonne’s birthday. LaVonne and Opal stayed the night and next day at Myron and Sally’s. They watched the Kansas State University basketball game.

March 20 they celebrated LaVonne’s birthday. Those attending the dinner included Angela and Chad Bunger, Mitchell, and Collin; Kevin and Emily, Elyse, and Avery; Bryan and Amanda Kantack, Bethany, Regan, and Alison; Adam and Crystal Magette and Lucas; Melody and Steve Magette; Myron and Sally Ammeter; and Opal Craney. After dinner, Carol and Blaine Ammeter of Ellsworth and Todd Ammeter of Claflin joined the party. Blain, Carol, and Todd took LaVonne and Opal home.

Mary Sue Holm of Fairfield, Va., and Adria Morgan of Great Bend arrived at the Ammeter farm March 21 to spend the night and next day. They celebrated LaVonne’s birthday.

Mary Sue and LaVonne went to Burns March 22 to have lunch and afterward went to Florence to a beauty shop. Stan Ammeter came to the farm to visit. Later Mary Sue and Adria left for Wichita.

Amy Drake and Daniel of Minnesota called LaVonne March 22. Daniel sang “Happy Birthday,” to LaVonne. Joey Gibson of Newton called later to wish LaVonne a happy birthday.

Michele Boese was an evening visitor March 21 and brought LaVonne tulips for her birthday.
