Community vacation bible school to start soon

Summer is here and that means it is almost time for Peabody’s Community Vacation Bible School.

“This year Vacation Bible School will be from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. from July 16 to July 20 at Peabody United Methodist Church,” organizer Beth Eldridge said. “It is open to students from preschool to 6th grade.”

This year’s learning adventure is “SonSurf, Beach Bash VBS.”

“It will be a wonderful adventure and an unforgettable beach blast,” Eldridge said. “Our community children will come to know the living Jesus who said, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me’ (John 14:6).”

Children must be enrolled with Eldridge by July 9 so that T-shirts can be ordered. Adult and youth volunteers also need to enroll. To enroll or volunteer to help, contact Eldridge at (620) 386-4958.

“We also hope the community will pray for our children and workers that week,” Eldridge said.

Family Night at the close of Vacation Bible School will be at 7 p.m. July 20 at the church for family, friends, and community.

“We invite everyone to come be blessed by the music and message the children will learn,” Eldridge said. “And enjoy refreshments and community fellowship with us.”
