Friday, June 5

Peabody Recreation Commission will host cosmic bowling and ice cream night at Peabody Lanes, 7 to 11 p.m. Unlimited bowling (including shoes) and a scoop of ice cream for just $3. No smoking or alcohol.

Saturday, June 6

Peabody Fourth Celebration Society will begin work on the 2009 fireworks at 1 p.m. at the roundhouse in city park. Volunteers are needed to help build the ground displays and learn about planning and preparation for next year’s celebration.

Monday, June 8

Peabody City Council meeting, 7 p.m., city building.

USD #398 Board of Education meeting, 7 p.m., central office.

Tuesday, June 9

Reading program, 9:30 a.m., Peabody Township Library.

Wednesday, June 10

Peabody REC will provide transportation to Starlight Skate Center in Newton for district students. Leave PBHS at 12:30 p.m., return at 3:45 p.m. Ages 6 and older. Admission is $3 per person (includes skates). Students may bring own skates or roller blades.
