Commission agrees on county counselor payment

Staff writer

County commissioners and former county attorney Susan Robson on Monday agreed that the county will pay Robson a flat fee of $1,800 per month over the next six months for legal services Robson will handle for the county.

Her duties will include attending commission meetings, completing tax sales, and other ongoing work not finished when Robson’s term ended.

Dana Gleason, who lives on Chisholm Trail Rd., talked to commissioners about tree damage and the condition of the road between 90th and 120th Rds. Gleason reminded commissioners he’d spoken to them about the problems in 2015. Some of the tree damage from work done at that time is still not cleaned up, Gleason said.

Gleason also said he’s noticed Chisholm Trail Rd. has been given the least attention over the last five years than during the many years he’s lived there.

Road and bridge superintendent Jesse Hamm said he’d like to get busy on the road, but he’s trying to apply big rock at the appropriate time so it can be worked in.

In other matters, commissioners heard a report on responsibilities of the health department and board of health from Diedre Serene, and discussed personnel with register of deeds Rebecca Wingfield.
