IN MEMORIAM:   Claudine Krch

Claudine (Cindy) Audry Krch of Lincolnville, age 72, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Born in Hillsboro on June 16, 1942, to Rudy and Lillian Krch of Pilsen, Claudine spent most of her life in central Kansas. She was raised in Pilsen on her family’s dairy farm and attended school in the area until her senior year. She graduated from Hodgeman County High School in Jetmore in 1960. She married John E. Zimmer of Jetmore on June 24, 1960, at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen and is survived by their four children: Curtis Zimmer of McPherson; Tanya Patterson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Robin Zimmer of Marquette; Rhonda Dille of La Mirada, California. Claudine is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her sister, Genny Pletcher of Rosalia.

In addition to caring for her family, Claudine worked throughout her life. This included being a beautician, selling Stanley products, working for a newspaper, working with the mentally handicapped and in a nursing home as a certified medical aide, as well as other jobs. In her parents’ final years she moved back home to care for them in their home. Afterwards, she stayed in Lincolnville and worked for Tiemeier’s Store until she retired.

Outside of work she had a great love for music and was an accomplished piano player. She enjoyed the outdoors
